With support for Spotify Connect now included in the DTS Play-Fi® platform, Spotify Premium subscribers can stream their favorite music and playlists to award-winning Phorus wireless audio products
ENCINO, Calif. (April 28, 2015) – Phorus, a subsidiary of DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), announced today the immediate availability of Spotify for its full product line-up, including the Phorus PS5 Speaker, the Phorus PS1 Speaker, and the Phorus PR5 Receiver. With the just announced integration of Spotify Connect with DTS Play-Fi® technology, Spotify Premium users will instantly be able to see, select and stream to any Phorus audio product from within the Spotify app. Subscribers will also be able to immediately launch and use the Spotify service from the Phorus apps for Android, iOS and the Kindle Fire. Simply choose a speaker, and music will begin streaming with pristine, lossless audio quality over Wi-Fi. This feature will be available to new purchasers and to existing Phorus customers via a simple app update.
A finalist at the 2015 Global Mobile Awards, the Phorus PS5 Speaker features an elegant new design, renowned DTS sound, and breakthrough DTS Play-Fi whole-home connectivity. The Phorus PR5 Receiver turns any existing home stereo into a wireless home audio system and was a 2014 CES Innovations Award honoree. With all Phorus products, users can stream music wirelessly throughout the home from smartphones, tablets, laptops or desktop PCs over an existing home Wi-Fi via DTS Play-Fi. Phorus is the only audio partner in the Play-Fi ecosystem currently including both Dual Band Wi-Fi streaming and premium Bluetooth options in all of its wireless products.

At launch, Phorus products will support streaming from Spotify Premium accounts to any one speaker or receiver in the user’s Wi-Fi network using Spotify Connect. An extension of this experience to multiple rooms via Play-Fi whole-home technology for Android and iOS users is expected later this year. Users of the DTS Play-Fi HD premium Windows software can enjoy a multi-room, multi-speaker experience on their Phorus products with Spotify’s online streaming service today.
The Phorus PS5 Speaker ($229) and the Phorus PR5 Receiver ($179) are now available online at Phorus, Amazon, and Crutchfield and are compatible with the full line-up of other DTS Play-Fi enabled products offered by leading audio brands.
