LAS VEGAS—(BUSINESS WIRE)— CES (Booth #9839) —DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, announced today, with Songza™, plans to offer the popular free streaming music service for Play-Fi™-enabled wireless home audio systems. Songza, named by Fast Company as one of the "World's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Music," has gained popularity as the music streaming app that provides an expertly-curated soundtrack for your life.

Songza will be integrated directly into the Play-Fi app for iOS and Android, with availability anticipated in the second quarter of 2014. Once the Play-Fi app is downloaded, current Songza subscribers will have instant access to their account. Users can also become new Songza subscribers, seamlessly through the Play-Fi app, and begin streaming expertly-curated playlists, in addition to custom playlists based on one's current activity such as driving, exercising, entertaining or working.

"Songza was designed to predict what users are doing right now and serve them the expertly-curated playlist that makes it even better," said Elias Roman, CEO of Songza. "By adding Songza support to the Play-Fi ecosystem, DTS is allowing customers to have effortless access to the right music for their specific activity, mood, or even room they are in, played directly through any Play-Fi connected speaker systems in their home."

"Songza's approach to creating a new style of streaming music service is a perfect match for Play-Fi," said Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer at DTS. "Songza is all about delivering music in a way that matches the lifestyle of today's music fan. At DTS, we share that same philosophy and are extremely proud to bring Songza's customer base even more options for listening to their favorite music at home through the Play-Fi ecosystem of audio products."

With Play-Fi, users can stream their music directly to any Play-Fi equipped audio system, or stream it through their existing home audio system using any receiver featuring Play-Fi connectivity. Play-Fi is an advanced whole-home audio technology capable of streaming lossless, high-quality audio from Android, iOS and Kindle Fire devices, as well as Windows PCs, to multiple rooms, from multiple users, simultaneously using a standard home Wi-Fi network. Unlike single speaker wireless solutions, which only allow users to stream directly to one speaker from their mobile devices, DTS Play-Fi gives users full control of an entire network of speakers in the home. Users can set-up, link, and stream audio to one Play-Fi enabled speaker or multiple speakers throughout the home at once, perfectly synchronized and with no lag.
